How It Works:
At the core of the Limetron is a unique catalytic alloy composed of semi-precious metals. As water flows through the device, the natural conductivity of the water interacts with this alloy, generating a small electrical field. This field induces calcium and bicarbonate ions in the water to form microscopic calcium carbonate crystals known as aragonite. Unlike typical limescale, aragonite has a smooth surface that doesn’t adhere to pipes or appliances, allowing it to be washed away with the water flow. Additionally, treated water can absorb existing limescale deposits, gradually reducing buildup over time.
Installation:
The Limetron is designed for straightforward installation on the main water line, compatible with various pipe sizes. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically, depending on the plumbing configuration. Installation typically involves replacing a small section of the existing pipe with the Limetron unit, a task that can be completed by a professional plumber.
