IBC Water KT-CARBON Carbon Compatible Replacement Filter for Chlorine Taste and Odour Reduction
Carbon Filter ‣ The OmnipureBlocks™ one-micron carbon filter successfully gets rid of all chlorine, chemicals, pesticides, undesirable taste, and smell. Made from premium coconut-shell carbon, fresh and sweet-tasting water is ensured. All Omnipure filter bodies are made with virgin, high-impact polypropylene which is especially ideal for use in applications where sanitary conditions are required. All materials of construction are NSF and FDA approved.
Certified Filters
- Omnipure Q5520 is Certified by NSF Standard 42 for Chlorine Taste and Odour Reduction. Also, NSF Standard 53 for Cyst Reduction.
1 Year Life
- The Omnipure Q5520 filters 2,500 gallons at 0.5 GPM or 1.9LPM.
Operation
Flush new cartridge with 5 gallons of water prior to use and check for leaks. If leaks occur, check tightness of tubing and fittings. If leaks persist, discontinue use and call your supporting dealer.
Maintenance Requirements
- Note flow direction of filter.
- Flush new cartridge with 5 gallons of water prior to use and check for leaks. If leaks occur, check tightness of tubing and fittings. If leaks persist, discontinue use and call your supporting dealer.
- Replace cartridge when rated capacity (2,500 gallons) is reached, or when flow becomes too slow.
- Install in compliance with state and local laws and regulations.
Pre-Filter Requirements
- The Omnipure Q5520 is usually installed with a sediment pre-filter Q5505. As high sediments in water can block prematurely the L5520.
- The Omnipure Q5520 has 1 micron pore size; therefore, removes more contaminants compared to the Q5540 , which has 5 micron pore size.
- Also, because the Q5540 uses granular activated carbon and has 5 micron pore size, sometimes can be installed by itself, without a sediment pre-filter
